The brown marmorated stink bug, Halyomorpha halys, is commonly found in 40 of the 50 states. This insect is considered a pest when it damages outdoor fruit, or makes its way into a home. PennState College of Agricultural Sciences states that these stink bugs emit an aeroallergen into the air when scared or squished that can cause such allergic reactions as conjunctivitis and rhinitis.
