Talking about Pest Control Techniques

Welcome to my site about pest control. I'm Miranda Maloney. Although many people fuss loudly about the presence of spiders in the home, these creatures often clear out the bugs that cause far worse problems. Spiders consume beetles, cockroaches, moths and other pests that wreak havoc throughout the house. Thankfully, however, you can hire a pest control professional to eliminate bugs in your home if you do not want to co-habitate with spiders. In fact, pest control professionals can eliminate the spiders as well. I will share information about pest control tactics, both natural and commercial, on this site. Please follow along to learn more.

Getting Rid Of Termites Using Orange Oil

Riley Baker

It's never a good thing to spot pests around your home. However, along with the ones you see, you also have to worry about the ones you don't. This can be especially true if the ones you don't see are termites. Once you have a better understanding of why termites can be so bad to find in your home, you'll see why it's important for you to do everything in your power to keep them away from your home and even your entire property. Here is more information on termites you want to be aware of as a homeowner:

Termites are attracted to wood

When you take steps to prevent pests from infesting your home, you may do things like make sure you keep your home as clean as possible. You may also be sure to keep the door closed, fix holes in the window screens right away, do the dishes as soon as you're done eating, and more. However, while doing all these things can help to prevent some types of pests from becoming an issue in your home, these things won't offer you any protection from termites. This is due to the fact that termites aren't attracted to things like food, and they likely won't enter your home using these traditional methods.

Instead of being attracted to the crumbs left on the floor and the half-eaten sandwich left on the counter, the termites will be after other areas. They will be attracted to things like the cupboards themselves, the doors, the flooring, and even the frame that plays a vital role in maintaining the overall integrity of the house. What's worse is they aren't just attracted to all these wood areas, but they want to consume the wood. When they show up in large numbers and begin gnawing away at your home, they can end up destroying it.

A home with termites should be treated immediately

As soon as it's determined that your home has termites, you need to act right away to get rid of them. The longer they remain in place, the worse damage they will cause to the home. This is why it's important to know about effective products that can help get rid of them.

One product you should be aware of is orange oil. Orange oil is an extract that's made using the rinds of oranges. It is often used for things like cleaning and as additives to flavor foods. However, one of the ingredients in orange oil also acts as an effective treatment for termites. The orange oil will kill them on contact. The oil will cause their exoskeleton to break down, and orange oil will even kill their eggs. This helps to make it a great choice for treatment when you need to get rid of a termite problem. Another great thing about using orange oil is that it gets rid of termites without using harsh chemicals.
