Talking about Pest Control Techniques

Welcome to my site about pest control. I'm Miranda Maloney. Although many people fuss loudly about the presence of spiders in the home, these creatures often clear out the bugs that cause far worse problems. Spiders consume beetles, cockroaches, moths and other pests that wreak havoc throughout the house. Thankfully, however, you can hire a pest control professional to eliminate bugs in your home if you do not want to co-habitate with spiders. In fact, pest control professionals can eliminate the spiders as well. I will share information about pest control tactics, both natural and commercial, on this site. Please follow along to learn more.

Pest Control And New Homes

Riley Baker

When it comes to purchasing a new home, pest control is often one of the last things on your mind. Many people incorrectly assume that newly constructed homes are free and clear of pests. But this can be a major mistake. Even newly built homes can have pest problems and if you ignore these potential issues, it can end up costing you in the long run. Here are a few things that you should know about pest control and new construction homes.

Pests May Be There From The Start

The first thing that you should know when moving into a new construction home is that pests can be there from the start. Building a new home disturbs the soil and can bring a lot of insects and other pests to the surface. During much of the construction phase, the home is open to the elements. This openness can allow pests inside, where they can eventually wreak havoc over time. Even the materials used during construction may have pests embedded within them, especially boring insects. After moving into a new construction home, it's important to be on alert for signs of pest activity.

Pest Control Services Are A Must

While many people associate regular pest control services with older homes that have reoccurring pest problems, they are also a good idea for new construction homes as well. Not only do regular pest control services take care of existing pests, they also prevent new ones from moving in. Costs for pest control services can vary from company to company and depending on the size of your home. On average monthly pest control costs between $40 and $45, semi-monthly between $50 and $60, and quarterly pest control ranges from $100 to $300.

Get An Inspection

If you are thinking about purchasing a new construction home, getting a pest inspection before finalizing the sale is a good idea. An inspection costs between $80 and $100 on average and includes a termite inspection. Some pests, such as termites, can weaken the structural integrity of a home fairly quickly. Before moving in, you want to ensure that your new home doesn't have termites or other pests that can cause major damage. Having a pest inspection allows you to negotiate the terms of the sale if there are pests present. It can also prevent you from purchasing a home that may require a lot of repair in the near future.

Even new homes can have pest problems. These pests can move in during the construction process and stick around after you move in. Regular pest control services are a must for keeping these pests at bay. Before you move in, you may also want to consider getting a pest inspection before the purchase is finalized.
