Talking about Pest Control Techniques

Welcome to my site about pest control. I'm Miranda Maloney. Although many people fuss loudly about the presence of spiders in the home, these creatures often clear out the bugs that cause far worse problems. Spiders consume beetles, cockroaches, moths and other pests that wreak havoc throughout the house. Thankfully, however, you can hire a pest control professional to eliminate bugs in your home if you do not want to co-habitate with spiders. In fact, pest control professionals can eliminate the spiders as well. I will share information about pest control tactics, both natural and commercial, on this site. Please follow along to learn more.

Getting A Mouser Cat For Your Property

Riley Baker

If you have a lot of rodents around your property then you'll want to do your best to get the situation under wraps as quickly as possible. The longer you allow the rodents to remain on your property, the more you will end up with because they multiply fast. Here are some things you should know about mouser cats and how they can help you:

Feral cats make the best mousers

Feral cats are cats that were raised away from humans, so they aren't comfortable around people. However, the fact that they were raised wild makes them great mousers because this is how they survive; by hunting for their own food.

Feral cats are trapped, fixed, and released

In most areas, there are catch and release programs. With these programs, the feral cats in an area are trapped, fixed s they can't reproduce, given their shots and released. They generally get released back to the area they were trapped from and one of their ears is clipped to identify them in the future as an already-fixed cat. Sometimes the cats can't be released back where they were trapped due to safety issues or other problems with the location. If this is the case, they can be adopted out as mousers, released somewhere else or destroyed. If you need a mouser, you should get one of these that can't be put back where they came from. Your local pound is a great place to start for information on how to adopt one.

You'll need to make a feral cat stay

To make a feral cat want to stay on your property you will need to supply them with a few things. They will need plenty of places to hide where they feel safe and will be left alone, access to water, some dry cat food at first until they get over being in a new location and plenty of live food (which you will have since you have decided you need a mouser). It's best if you can put them in a dark garage or shed with a lot of hiding places for a few days and everything they need. Then, crack a door open at night and the chances are good that they will go outside, investigate and feel comfortable going back in the garage or shed for shelter. Once you accomplish getting them to stay on your property, you can look forward to the rodent population on your property significantly dropping.
